Develops short- and long-term goals for the improvement of athletic programs consistent with best practices, the highest standards, and the District’s goals.

Supervises and promotes in the community, the establishment and operation of a sound and competitive interscholastic athletic program for all schools in the District.

Is the liaison between interscholastic programs and youth/community programs.

Develops and submits an annual budget in line with Athletic Department program goals for the purpose of purchasing supplies and equipment for the district athletic program.

Implements District policies as they pertain to interscholastic athletics.

Leads the screening, selection, hiring, induction, assignment, and professional growth of athletics staff members.

Supervises and evaluates athletic coaches in the District in line with the District’s chosen evaluation tools.

Represents the District at all League, Conference, Section, and NYS athletics meetings

Coordinates the athletic schedule of schools in the District, as they pertain to facilities, transportation, officials, etc.

Assumes responsibility for security and ticket admissions at all athletic events.

Coordinates with the Facilities Department for the use of indoor and outdoor athletic facilities for District and community programs.

Keeps abreast of relevant changes and developments in athletics and uses this knowledge for continuous improvement.

Utilizes the District’s website and social media platforms to promote the athletic department.

Creatively celebrates the accomplishments of athletes and coaches.

Facilitates Athletic Advisory Meetings.

Enforces the Student Athlete Handbook in conjunction with the Student Code of Conduct.
ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL (Grades 7-8)

Work as part of the High School Administrative Team and collaborate with the High School Principal and Assistant Principal for Grades 9-12 to provide managerial and instructional leadership.

Support the advancement of instructional practices through the evaluation of performance and provision of feedback, to support continuous improvement of teaching and learning.

Implement and continually refine a thoughtful, fair, and effective approach to student discipline that reflects innovative, progressive, and restorative approaches to student behavior that encourage accountability, reflection, and growth.

Create and clearly communicate disciplinary procedures and policies to students, families, and faculty.

Coordinate and lead meetings with students and families regarding academic and/or behavioral concerns.

Work collaboratively with school counselors to implement the MTSS framework, ensuring that every student receives the appropriate academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support needed for success.
OTHER DUTIES
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Athletic Director/Assistant Principal (Grades 7–8) is a 12-month, full-time position reporting directly to the Superintendent of Schools. Salary and benefits are aligned with the Dansville Administrators Association contract and will be determined in consultation with the Superintendent, based on the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience. The salary range for this position is $85,000 to $105,000, and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
